BEDROOM INTERIOR DESIGN
Bournemouth University
The Skyline building is a purpose-built student accommodation that offers 430 student bedrooms. These are provided in a mix of studios and clusters, along with a management suite, common room, gym, study rooms, and a sky lounge with an external roof terrace offering stunning views over the New Forest to the Isle of Wight. Every bedroom was meticulously designed to ensure that the furniture fit the spaces perfectly.
Key features.
A notable feature of this building is the upper lounge on the 17th floor, which provides breathtaking views of the Isle of Wight and Bournemouth’s premier beaches. This area has been carefully designed to reflect the strong aviation heritage of the town, celebrated through the renowned Bournemouth Air Show.
Other design features.
The sky lounge, aptly named to complement the building's name 'Skyline', includes unique design elements such as an aluminium-clad bar shaped like an airplane wing and thunderbolt-inspired lighting rods with cloud effects. These features honour the town's aviation history and bring a thematic continuity to the space. The design was a result of extensive conceptualizing and interior theming exercises with the clients, making it a beautiful and cohesive scheme that adds significant value to the student living experience.
Coventry University
For this 462-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation building in Coventry, UK, we aimed to create an interior that exuded an ‘Urban Oasis’ feel. Given the urban setting of the building, our goal was to transform the space into a serene and rejuvenating environment.
We selected natural furniture products wherever possible and incorporated tropical and jungle-themed wall coverings and accessories. A standout feature is the installation of a tree in the main common space, enhancing the natural atmosphere. The 7th floor, known as The Winter Gardens, offers a relaxed ambiance with views over the urban landscape, providing the ultimate chill-out space.
Our design ensured that the spaces were engaging, colourful, and airy. We added a playful touch to the oasis theme by installing greenhouses as study spaces within the main common room. The reception area was designed to unify the overall scheme, maintaining a playful and cohesive aesthetic.
We played a pivotal role in designing all 462 bedrooms, as well as the private dining and private study spaces, ensuring that each area contributed to the overall Urban Oasis concept.
